Object history La obra es una copia del retrato original que pinto Van Loo en 1750 (Palacio de Versalles) y fue realizada por su taller de de la «Direction des Bâtiments du roi» en Versalles. El cuadro podría haber sido un regalo del rey de Francia al embajador español de aquel momento, Joaquín Atanasio Pignatelli de Aragón y Moncayo, conde de Fuentes, quien, a su regreso a España, traería el retrato consigo y uno de sus sucesores lo donaría de tal manera que acabó formando parte de las colecciones del Museo de Zaragoza.
