Bayern!

Eine neue Richtung hat begonnen, eine andere,
als die in der Verfaſſungsurkunde enthaltene
in welcher Ich nun im 23ſten Jahre geherrſcht.
Ich lege die Krone nieder zu Gunſten meines
geliebten Sohnes des Kronprinzen Maximilian.
Treu der Verfaſſung regierte Ich; dem Wohle
des Volkes war mein Leben geweyht, als wenn
Ich eines Frayſtaates Beamter geweſen, ſo
gewiſſenhaft ging Ich mit dem Staatsgute, mit
den Staatsgeldern um. Ich kann Jedem offen
in die Augen ſehen. Und nun Meinen tief
gefühlten Dank Allen die Mir anhingen.
Auch vom Throne herabgeſtiegen ſchlägt glühend
mein Herz für Bayern, für Teutſchland.
