English: San Diego (Oct. 27, 2005) - Retired U.S. Navy Veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor, Lt. John W. Finn, left, speaks with fellow Pearl Harbor survivors during an office plaza dedication to Lt. John and Alice Finn at Naval Training Center (NTC) San Diego. At age 96, Lt. Finn is the oldest living Medal of Honor recipient. Admiral Chester Nimitz awarded Lt. Finn the Medal of Honor for his actions at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. While taking heavy enemy machine gun fire, Lt. Finn manned a .50-caliber machine gun on an exposed area of the flight line at Naval Air Station Kaneohe Bay. Finn continued to return fire even after being painfully wounded.
