Women's Equality Day falls on August 26th in honor of the passage of the 19th Amendment and full voting rights for women in 1920. Louisiana Women Leaders gathered at the Newcomb College Center for Women and Government at Tulane University on August 26th to discuss women's issues and women's rights in Louisiana. Te panel was moderated by New Orleans City Councilmember Cynthis Willard Lewis and Panelists included Gwen Adams from ACORN, Julie Cherry--Secretary Treasurer of the Louisiana AFL-CIO, Dr. Beth Willinger--Executive Director Emeritus Newcomb College Center for Research on Women, Rep. Barbara Norton--author Louisiana Equal Pay for Women Act and Brenda Robichaux, Principal Cheif United Houma Nation.
