Summary[edit]
DescriptionLooking towards the main dressing floor of Hafod y Porth Copper Mine - geograph.org.uk - 274739.jpg |
English: Looking towards the main dressing floor of Hafod y Porth Copper Mine The first mention of Hafod y Porth copper mine, on the side of Yr Aran above Nant Gwynant, dates back to 1755. It was never very profitable, with as little as 58 tons of dressed ore being produced during its lifetime of over 100 years. In short succession, after 1860, it was owned by 5 different companies each raising money from duped investors and speculators. |
