Title
English: Looking east on Yesler Way from Post St., Seattle, June 5, 1889
Description
English: Photograph was taken the day before the area was destroyed by fire. Original photographer unknown. Shows the Post Building, Yesler-Leary Building, Occidental Hotel, Schwabacker [sic: should be Schwabacher] Bros. & Co. building, and the Colman Building.
  • Subjects (LCTGM): Yesler Way (Seattle, Wash.); Streets--Washington (State)--Seattle; Post Building (Seattle, Wash.); Yesler-Leary Building (Seattle, Wash.); Colman Building (Seattle, Wash.); Occidental Hotel (Seattle, Wash.); Hotels--Washington (State)--Seattle; Schwabacher Bros. & Company (Seattle, Wash.); Hardware stores--Washington (State)--Seattle

By process of elimination, the building at the southeast corner of First & Yesler (then Commercial & Mill) would be the one University of Washington Libraries is calling the "Colman Building" here, but I (User:Jmabel) seriously doubt that name; 1888 Sanborn insurance map doesn't give any name, so not easily settled.

Also, the date specified in the title is impossible: that was the day before the fire.
