Summary[edit]

Description
English: In this picture I am studying an optical fibre. Optical fibres are solid strands of really pure glass that’s thinner than a hair. They’re like pipes for light. Light, from a laser, can be encoded with information using a laser, turn it on for one and off for zero, similar to Morse code. This light travels down the fibre by bouncing along the walls, carrying information across continents & under oceans in the blink of an eye! Optical fibres are physical paths of the internet.
