Summary[edit]

Description
English: Looking North East at Low Spring Tide towards the mouth of the Peffer Burn. This is almost as low as the tides get in Aberlady Bay. The mouth of the Peffer has silted up with sand but once sailing ships sailed into Aberlady Bay which was the port for the county town of Haddington Boats are no longer allowed into the bay as the area is now a nature reserve abundant in sea birds and geese in the winter months. The sands are clean and safe but you need to watch the turn of the tide so that you are not stranded on an island of sand surrounded by the incoming sea.
