Summary[edit]

Description
English: Shown here are display cases at the exhibition "Die Langobarden. Das Ende der Völkerwanderung" at the Rheinisches LandesMuseum Bonn from 22 August 2008 to 11 January 2009. At the top of the display case to the left are Roman bronze cauldrons used as Lombard burial urns and excavated at the Putensen grave field. In the center of the display case is a reconstructed model of a Lombard warrior's burial from Marmstorf. A buried ceramic urn is shown in situ, with a shield boss, two spear heads, and a double-edged sword in the soil beneath it. The loose grave goods at the bottom of the display case are also from Marmstorf. All these items were on loan from the Archäologisches Museum Hamburg.
