Voltage division characteristic of a single turn logarithmic potentiometer. Blue: theoretical logarithmic relationship, red approximation with 3 linear resistance regions:
Theoretical curve calculation: Degrees Knob rotation = 300 * log (9 * VDF +1). VDF = voltage division factor varies between 0 and 1, argument log varies between 1 and 10, log varies from 0 to 1, degrees vary from 0 to 300 degrees (=maximum rotation. So, the knob position is a logarithmic function of the VDF and not the other way around. |
