Description O projeto Tresidela Nova realizado pela Diocese de Balsas no sul do Maranhão visa trabalhar no contra turno das aulas com cerca de cem crianças que vivem no bairro Tresidela. O bairro fica na periferia da cidade e abriga o lixão municipal - sem aterro ou tratamento. Algumas das famílias que frenquentam o projeto são também catadoras no lixão. A assistência do projeto nos últimos 14 anos mudou a realidade do bairro. Balsas fica na região do MATOPIBA, a nova fronteira agrícola brasileira que já degradou boa parte do cerrado nos últimos anos. Muitas famílias do bairro são também funcionários nos latifundios aos arredores. Balsas, Maranhão, 2018.
