Linen is made from Linum plant also called flax plant.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Linum grandifloras flowers. A photo clicked at the Oilseed Research Center in Latur. Flax plant have many more uses. It is an oilseed and hence a source of oleochemicals. Secondly its seeds have a food value. But most important is, this plant has been a source of natural fibres, used from ancient times to weave fabric. The name of this species comes from the beautiful flowers it has. Also called Crimson Flax or Scarlet Flax.
