Description
English: California aviator Lincoln Beachey, seen here in Grant Park in 1911, was an early aviation daredevil who exhibited his prowess at an airshow held at the park in August of 1911. The Tribune reported that Beachey was the "biggest star of the nine days." He is seen here in his Curtiss biplane. — Chicago Tribune historical photo
