Description
Deutsch: 3: Das Asyl: Villa Wesendonck bei Zürich 1858.
Die Erfüllung seiner Sehnsucht nach einem Heim bereitete ihm ein edler Freund, Otto Wesendonck, der ein fürstliches Landhaus bei Zürich besass. Dort bezog Wagner 1857 mit seiner Gattin das »Asyl«. Die schöne poetische Frau des Freundes, die ihm mit einem Gefühl der Wahlverwandtschaft verbunden war, tat alles, um seinem Schaffen einen ungestörten glücklichen Verlauf zu ermöglichen. Mit einem Missklang, der durch die Eifersucht seiner Gattin verursacht wurde, endete dieser Aufenthalt. Wagner trennte sich von seiner Gattin und ging nach Venedig 1858.
