Summary[edit]
DescriptionLevel crossing control - geograph.org.uk - 920195.jpg |
English: Level crossing control The level crossing at Morar Station is the only ungated crossing on the line from Fort William to Mallaig. Trains bound for Mallaig operate the crossing lights automatically, but all timetabled trains from Mallaig will stop at the station, making that impossible. When the train is ready to depart the driver will press a button on the platform to trigger the warning lights. The board reads: "Press plunger. Obtain white light and whistle before proceeding." Note that the painted red circle is truly a 'fixed' railway signal which must be obeyed like any other. |
