Summary[edit]

Description Contractors for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District build a levee seepage cutoff wall near the H Street bridge in Sacramento, California, shown Dec. 8, 2014. The wall will strengthen the levee beneath the bridge and reduce flood risk by helping prevent water from seeping through or underneath. The Corps built more than 20 miles of seepage walls into American River levees between 2000 and 2002, but work was set aside for later where complicated encroachments existed such as utilities, power lines and bridges.
