Letter from Theodor Curtius to Rosa Bredig
Description
Theodor Curtius (1857-1928) invites Rosa Bredig (1877-1933) and Georg Bredig (1868-1944) to a celebration to bid the Bredigs farewell. Georg was an associate professor at the University of Heidelberg from 1901 through 1910. In 1910 he was offered a position as a full professor at the Technische Hochschule, Zurich, and left Heidelberg. Throughout his career, Curtius was a professor of chemistry at the University of Heidelberg, the director of the analytical chemistry department at the University of Erlangen, and a chair of chemistry at the University of Kiel. He published the Curtius rearrangement in 1890 and also discovered diazoacetic acid, hydrazine, and hydrazoic acid.
