Summary[edit]

Description

Letters written by school age children from Camp Pendleton and addressed to Lieutenant General Walter E. Boomer upon his return from the Persian Gulf. The letters contain art work and references to the Marines' overseas deployments.

"Dear Lt. General Boomer,

Thank you for everything you did. For bringing are father back from Saudi Arabia. Thank you very much even though my dad didn't go there he went to the philippines but, I still thank you for bringing the other troops back. Well it's time for me to close my letter bye.

Sincerely, Diane Smith"
