  • Scope and content: This item is the original illuminated manuscript letter in Burmese from the King and Court of Ava to the President of the United States. It relates to the diplomatic relations between Burma and the United States. Eugenio Kincaid, an American missionary to Burma, carried the royal letter in an enclosed ivory container.
