Български: Писмо от митрополит Евстатий Пелагонийски до митрополит Мелетий Софийски и Марин Дринов в София за заточаването му от сръбските власти поради подкрепата на жителите от Пиротска епархия да бъдат присъедитнени към България.

Ниш, 17 февруари 1878 (първа страница).

„Ваше Высокопреосвященство!

Извините что пищу Вамъ так кратко.

Повозка казенная перед двери ожидаеть

взять меня и отвести въ Южную Сербiю

въ городъ Крушевацъ или въ тамошный

монастырь Любостинъ въ заточения,

потой единственной причины, что жи-

тели всей Пиротской (т.е. Нишавской)

Епархiи, какъ чистые Болгаре желаютъ

соединенными быть съ общимъ тѣломъ

Болгарского народа и подъ покровитель-

ствомъ Благосклонной России, а не подъ

Сербию. Въ этомъ смыслѣ подписа-

лось болѣя двухъ тысячъ человекъ луч-

шихъ гражданъ и старѣйшинъ сельскихъ

на двухъ адресахъ - одинъ до Високаго

Князя Николая въ Едрене, а другой до

Его Ичператорскаго Величества

Государя Александра Освободителя Бол-

гарскаго...“
