English: "That I’m now a sergeant, but I got started on mosquitos and forgot all about it.)
Mother is now in Trinidad B.W.I. and from her last letter doesn’t think much of it. Too many colored folks. I sent her a cable on Mother’s Day, walked eight miles to the cable station, cost me 20 1/2¢ per word and there were nineteen words in the address alone. If I hadn’t sent it she would have probably caught a bout, and I hate to think what would have happened. I finally got around to answering Aunt Adda’s letter. She replied at once and today I received a package of books. I must write and thank her very soon." From the Edward L.
