English: Lesser Celandine, Ranunculus ficaria (Linn.) The celandines were pushing their way up through winter's dead grass on the side of the track leading to the church gate.
These were Wordsworth's favourite flowers. Also known as Brighteye, Star Flower, Butter and Cheese or Pilewort (the plant used to be used for curing piles). |
