Summary[edit]

Description
Français : Les revendications émises par la France sur les navires allemands lors des négociations du traité de Versailles. Dessin publié par l'hebdomadaire Le Miroir, 16 mars 1919.
English: The claims made by France on German ships in the negotiations of the Treaty of Versailles. Partial translation : "Why France demanded his share of the German fleet ?" . "To ensure control of its colonies, France needed a part of the German fleet." (...) France who, during the war, sacrificed everything to stop the rush of the enemy, could contruire new vessels to compensate for its losses. That is why she was claiming a share of the enemy fleet. With its colonies, its fisheries, its bases in distant seas, the fight against smuggling and police its territorial waters, France has a Navy war insufficient to ensure the course of these long journeys, which account for one year, about 850,000 kilometers ". Drawing published by Le Miroir weekly, 16 March 1919.
