Description
Deutsch: Attisch-weißgrundige Lekythos des Tymbos-Malers (Namenvase; Zuschreibung durch John D. Beazley). Verstorbener vor seiner Grabstele am Grabhügel (Tymbos), in der rechten Hand führt er Essen an den Mund, in der Linken hält er einen Weinschlauch. Um 470/450 v. Chr., Höhe 19,3cm; gefunden in Athen. Für die Antikensammlung Berlin (Altes Museum) erworben 1874; Inventarnummer F 2246; CVA Deutschland 89/Berlin 12 Tafel 19.
English: Attic white-ground Lekythos by the Tymbos Painter (name vase, attributed by John D. Beazley). Decased man is sitting in front of his own grave stelai on the grave hill (tymbos), with the left hand he holds a wine tube, with the right hand he eats something. About 47/50 BC.; 19,3cm high; found in Athens. Purchased for the Antikensammlung Berlin (Altes Museum) in 1874; Invnr F 2246; CVA Germany 89/Berlin 12 Tafel 19.
