Description
Français : L'armement, le fonctionnement et la pose d'une mine marine en 1914 vue par l'hebdomadaire Le Miroir du 6 septembre 1914.
English: Translation: "How underwater mines placed." First photograph: Mining, open to the deck, are ready for the explosive charges and the firing mechanism. Second photo: The establishment of explosives requires great care. It is carried on board ships by special trained men. Third photo: The terrible engines are ready. They are sealed and bolted. Fourth photo: The mines are launched one after another to the sea or they float waiting to be disposed of at the required depth. Photographs and diagram published by the French weekly Le Miroir September 6, 1914.
