Le cimetière Sidi el-Mezri, avec ses tombes de marabouts. Au fond le Ribat de Monastir Tunisie

Le Ribat abritait aux 10ème et 11ème siècles une université très fréquentée.

Le Ribat de Monastir est l'ensemble défensif le plus imposant, le plus ancien et le mieux conservé du Maghreb. La partie la plus ancienne date de 796, construits le long des côtes, les ribats avaient pour fonction de défendre le territoire musulman contre les attaques chrétiennes.
