Title
Le cabaret du Lapin Blanc: intérieur
Description
The "Lapin Blanc" cabaret was created by a Gascon wine merchant named Mauras. Inspired by a novel of the time by Eugéne Sue in which fur traders come to the Rue aux Fèves ("lucky charm street") to seek out a fictional "tapis franc au lapin blanc" (a plain rug made of white rabbit fur), Mauras made the "Lapin Blanc" a real place at which visitors could get drinks and entertainment.
