Français : Lhermitte dépeint une scène à témoignant de la vie sociale paysanne des années 1880 lors des vendanges. Dans sa composition de grand format, il dépeint quatre hommes autour d'une table (à gauche) ; l'un d'eux propose du vin à une femme tenant fièrement un enfant avec son bras gauche tandis que sa main droite accompagne celle d'un autre enfant (à droite). La femme est vêtue de bleu, de blanc et de rouge ; le peintre pourrait ainsi faire allusion à la figure de Marianne. À l'arrière plan, on aperçoit des vendangeurs auprès de la roue du pressoir. |
