Le Bouddha (The Buddha) Danesar Khera Central India Période Gupta Vème siècle après J.-C. Bronze doré British Museum Département des antiquités de l'Inde

Le Bouddha est ici représenté dans la position de l'enseignement. Ses mains font le Dharmachakra Mudra, elles sont contre sa poitrine.

Le Dharmachakra est la Loi du Dharma dont la Roue symbolique a été mise en mouvement à Sârnâth par le Bouddha ayant atteint l’Éveil.

L'inscription visible sur le socle de la statue en bronze doré permet de la dater avec précision. Le nom du Roi Hariraja y figure ce qui indique qu'elle date du Vème siècle.
