On the left in council robes and hats are the mace bearer and Mayor David Simpson (1860–1931) To the right of Simpson and wearing a tall topper and full beard is Samson Fox, and partially hidden on the right is the town clerk J. Turner Taylor. The chain on the left is holding the foundation stone, allowing it to be lowered after the cement is applied. |
