Description

La tentation (reduction) (french for "the temptation (reduction)") by William-Adolphe Bouguereau.

Difference between this painting and the original (1880/05) lies in the colours and the size. This version is smaller, and the colours leans more towards yellow. The difference in colours may however be a technical issue when the painting was digitalized. Should be noted that this file is a scanned image from the book refered to below. One should always expect that the colours will be slightly off when taking a photo of a painting, and since this file has undergone both a photograph of the original work, and then a scan of the photo taken, the colours may differ quite a bit from the original. This is however also true for the uploaded file(s) of the original version, so the paintings are to a certain excent comparable colourwise.

Catalogue number: 1880/05A

Dimensions: 58,5 × 79 cm

In 2010 the painting was owned by a private collector.
