Description

The South Australian School of Art was first established in 1856 - the oldest of UniSA's antecedent institutions.The school went through a number of name changes over the years:

1861 South Australian School of Design bv 1881 the School split into the School of Design and the School of Painting 1892 the two Schools merged into the School of Design and Painting 1894 School of Design, Painting and Technical Art 1909 Adelaide School of Art and in 1916 South Australian School of Arts and Crafts.
