MAULES EXCELSIOR EGG PLANT. 277 Maules Excelsior Egg Pleint It is of large size and extremely good shape,being particularly adapted to slicing, and forflavor it cannot be surpassed. It resists drought,blight and bad weather to a wondertul degree,on account of its strong,upright growth. Thefruit often measures 18 to 24 Inches in circum-ference (6 to 8 inches in diameter) and is bornewell above the ground, thus escaping liabilityto rot. Gourds CtJLTtJRB.—Gourds are tender annuals, of trailing or climbing habit. The seed should not be planted until the ground is warm. Plant inhills and cultivate as squash.
