Lady's Well, Dumfries House

Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Lady's Well, Dumfries House, East Ayrshire, Scotland. A Robert Adam designed well from the mid to late 18th century that was badly damaged by French soldiers based at the estate in the 1940s. It was planned to rebuild it however in the 1960s the stones were spread along the river bank. Lefnoreis Castle was very nearby and the name suggests a pre-reformation date for the original well.
