Français : La rivière Mitis et ses chutes à Price

« Cette vue aérienne montre le village de Price au sommet de sa prospérité. Le nom du village provient de la Price Brothers, un empire du bois présent sur les deux rives du fleuve Saint-Laurent, ainsi que vers le nord jusqu’à la région du Saguenay. La Price Brothers possédait également la Seigneurie du Lac Mitis, en amont de la rivière, où il y avait une vaste forêt d’épinettes. Elle utilisait la rivière pour transporter plus facilement les billots de bois jusqu’à l’usine située en aval dans le village. Elle occupait un grand terrain près de la rivière qui était divisé par la voie ferré du Canada and Gulf Terminal Railway.

Cette photographie montre bien la proximité des chutes avec le village et leur hauteur qui en font un site naturel conçu pour la production d’hydroélectricité. En dehors du cadre de la photographie, il y a le pont du chemin de fer Intercolonial, qui est ,encore aujourd’hui, la linge principale du CN entre Montréal et Halifax. »
