t que Carte et Macalister (loco citato)le représentent, chez la Balœnopterarostrata, descendant jusquau méta-carpien du doigt V. Bien que Pouchet et Beaure-GARD nen notent pas la présence chezle Cachalot, il ne semble pas avoir pumanquer. Chez le Plataniste (voy. J. An-DERSON, loco citato), le fléchisseurcubital du carpe était très fort et seprolongeait jusque sur le doigt V. Trouvé par Struthers, chez le Pho-caeiia communis, et par moi-même chezle Tursiops tursio, ce muscle paraît de-voir exister chez tous les Delphinidae. Signalons enfin que Struthers(loco citato) décrit un fléchisseur radialdu carpe chez la Balaena mysticetus,qui serait, dit-il, lhomologue du longfléchisseur du pouce de lHomme, si cemuscle nétait déjà représenté par lechef radial du perforant. Peut-êtrepourrait-on y voir aussi un homologuedu palmaris longus. Enfin, Pouchet et Beauregard(loco citato), décrivent, chez le Cacha-lot, des vestiges dinterosseux, situéssous la masse des fléchisseurs.

Peut-être pourrait-on cependant reconnaître des vestiges des premiers dans les aponévroses des faces dextension et de flexion : chez la Balae- NAGEOIRE DU MESOPLODON 373 noptera physalus (musculus) capturée à Cette ^, laponévrose de la face deflexion présentait deux faisceaux divergents, partant dun gros tendonet contenait même, dans la région m., quelques fibres musculaires(voy. fig. 7). PoucHET et Beauregard ont signalé, dautre part, des vestig.:sdinterosseux chez le Cachalot, et Leboucq (loco citato) les a égalementobservés chez le fœtus de Delphinus delphis.
