Description
English: "LONDINIUM REDIVIVVM. Presented by me to his Majesty, a Week after the Conflagration, together with a Discourse now in the Paper Office," engraving, by the English diarist John Evelyn. The engraving is a copy of Evelyn's plan for rebuilding London after the Great Fire. This engraving was published by the Society of Antiquarians in 1748. Evelyn later admitted that even though he designed one of the first plan for rebuilding, architect Christopher Wren "Dr Wren had got the start on [him]."
