Summary

[edit]
Description LC-DIG-GGBAIN-16923: Royal Navy Majestic class pre-dreadnought battleship, HMS Mars, at anchor, starboard side. She was commissioned in 1897 and was sold for scrap in July 1920. During World War I, her class was too old for effective use, so she was re-commissioned as a troopship, most notably serving in the Dardanelles campaign. George B. Bain News Service, photographed between 1910-15. (9/25/2015).
