Elle avoulu faire quelque chose, elle aussi. Elle sest en-rolee, a fait son apprentissage de cantiniere, puis apasse la mer. Tout pres de la ligne de feu, elle a etablisa hutte: le ((salut)) du soldat epuise ou mourant . . . Elle vient de lire sa bible matinale. La voila sur saporte, en bonnet de police, en jupe courte, de couleurkhaki comme les Oncles. — Par ici, soldats, on vous attend! Des blesses? — Non, Lizzie, des ecorches seulement. Tenez, vousnous ferez cuire cela pour cet apres-midi, nest-ce pas? Et Fox lui remet, enveloppes dans un journal, sesquatre lapins deja depouilles. Les Oncles entrent.
