Description
Français : L’ancien bateau de pêche (palangrier) norvégien « Kårstein » en escale à La Rochelle (et à destination d’Israel), amarré dans le Bassin des Chalutiers. Ce bateau a été très transformé par l’association norvégienne « Ship to Gaza Norway» qui soutient les pêcheurs palestiniens contre le blocus de Gaza imposé par les Israéliens. « Kårstein » a pour mission de se rentre le long des côtes israéliennes avec d’autres navires (la Coalition de la Flotille de la Paix) pour une campagne de protestation. Pour cette campagne un nom officieux a été donné à cet ancien bateau de pêche : « Al Awda » (« Le Retour »). « Kårstein » était utilisé dans les pêcheries de l’Arctique. Cet ancien palangrier est en bois et en métal et a été construit en 1963. Il mesure 20 mètres de long et 6 mètres de large. Il bat pavillon norvégien. Sur le bateau, on peut lire sur des banderoles et sur la coque : « Right to a just future for Palestine », « Support Freedom Flotilla-3 », « Ship to Gaza Norway », « # Ship to Gaza ».

Le nom (officiel) de cet ancien bateau de pêche s’écrit aussi « Kaarstein ».
