Gong Bao Ji Ding at the Jadeland Restaurant, Ottawa - August 19, 2011 Appeared on the menu as 'Kung Po Chicken' in English and 宫保鸡丁 in Chinese characters. A very poor effort for what is supposed to be a Sichuan restaurant. The chicken was sliced instead of cut into cubes despite saying '丁 ' on the menu. There were no chilli pieces and no scorched chilli taste. Cashews were used instead of peanuts. There was very little chicken and lots of vegetables used for bulk. These included diced carrot and bamboo shoot, peas, celery, baby corncob chunks and big pieces of green pepper. The chilli consisted only of very fine flecks in a mediocre sauce which was nondescript and would have been at home in a canned chop suey. <a href="http://www.jadeland.com/" rel="nofollow">www.jadeland.com/</a> |
