Description
English: This is a cross section through a "knuckle thread". This thread form has very rounded tips, illustrated by the circles at the thread tip and clearance at the thread root. There is also a flat area with a 30 degree thread angle. Specifically, this is modeled from a DIN 20400 Rd300x16 thread. It demonstrates that when interior and exterior threads mate, the enlarged pitch diameter of this thread form leaves substantial room at the tips for deformation or debris.
Date
Source Prepared in Inkscape from public DIN thread data.
