Summary[edit]
DescriptionKliese housebarn.jpg |
English: Housebarn in Emmet, Wisconsin, a few miles north of Watertown. Built ca. 1850 for Friedrich Kliese, an immigrant from Silesia, it is now owned by the Langholff family. Featuring a "schwarze Küche" ("black kitchen" or smokehouse), it is Wisconsin's only half-timbered structure built by German immigrants that accommodates both a barn and a residence under one roof. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. For additional information, see <http://hdl.loc.gov/loc.pnp/hhh.wi0010>. |
