| Description |
English: King Water Looking through Kingsbridge Ford Bridge. The name is a little curious. It seems to imply that the bridge replaced Kingsbridge Ford, which makes sense except that it is strange to have a ford named after King's Bridge. As a ford would usually predate a bridge you would expect it to be the other way around, i.e. a bridge named after a ford - Kingsford Bridge. Anyway the bridge would seem to be of some age but, as well as the salmon ladder, there would appear to be the remnants of a ford in the river. |
