Summary[edit]
DescriptionKing Tutankhamun's tomb goods necklace given to discoverer of the tomb steps DSC 0979 (30768997367).jpg | During Howard Carter's excavations which led to the discovery of Tutankhamun's Tomb, a water boy was setting out a container for the workers. Looking closely at the ground, he discovered a hole filled with debris and a step down, carved into the bedrock in the Valley of Kings. Excavating revealed the debris concealed as passageway, and the step led down to another, and then another, and so on. It doesn't say where this splendid necklace came from, but Carter gave it as a reward and gift to the waterboy, who then wore it every day, to work, and told his story of discovery to visitors When he retired, he gave the necklace and the job to his son. |
