| Description |
Magyar: A Képes krónika (Chronicon pictum) egy latin nyelven írt krónika, illetve az azt tartalmazó kódex, amely 1360 körül készült Nagy Lajos budai udvarában, szerzője feltehetően Kálti Márk. Anjou királyainkat egy festő-család három generációja szolgálta. A nagyapa, Hertul, talán Nápolyból behívott olasz mester volt, s Károly Róbertnek dolgozott. Az apa, Miklós, I. Lajos király szolgálatában állott. Ő 1373-ban már halott, míg fia, Miklós, ugyanekkor még kiskorú, viszont 1385-ben már nem élt. Számosan a család második nemzedékébe tartozó Miklósban látják a Képes krónika festőjét, s felteszik, hogy az 1360-as évek elején kezdte el a festést, vagy esetleg, az írással szorosan együtt, azaz az 1350-es évek végén. |
