English: Chief of Naval Operations ADM Frank B. Kelso II reads a statement during a press conference at the Pentagon regarding the Navy's investigation of the April 19, 1989, explosion aboard the battleship USS IOWA (BB-61). After a review of all available evidence concerning the cause of the blast, the Navy's official conclusion is that the exact cause cannot be determined and Clayton Hartwig, who was blamed in the initial investigation, is cleared. |
