Title
KENT-E5F234: Medieval figurine
Description
English: A copper alloy terminal from a Post Medieval cast pewter 'apostle spoon'. The spoon handle is cirular in crosss section and has broken just below the base of the figure. The figure is standing on a pedestal, is upright and moulded in deep relief. He wears a draped robe, in his left holds an object, possibly an orb or pot. The figure appears to be carrying something large with his right arm, possibly a palm frond.

Apostle spoons were first made in the early 15th century but were most popular 1500–1666 AD, particularly as christening gifts; they continued being made into the modern period.

The terminal is 32.3 mm long, 8.8 mm wide, 3.9 mm thick and weighs 2.13 grams.
