Description
English: 784-787AD Hammered silver penny light coinage without portrait, small flan, King Offa of Mercia. Group 1, standard obverse, North 271, Blunt type 17.
'OF' in square of pellets with line of pellets projecting diagonally from each angle:- 'RM' below and Latin cross above and flower or serpent either side? Reverse: 'EOBA' on the leaves of a quatrafoil and an annulet and cross of pellets in the centre. 
Canterbury mint. Very little wear. Dark grey discolouration.
