Summary[edit]

Description A U.S. Navy Grumman KA-6D Intruder (BuNo 151793) of Attack Squadron 165 (VA-165) "Boomers" trapping on board the aircraft carrier USS Constellation (CVA-64) on 25 November 1974. The pilot was Captain James M. Seely, who was recording his 1,000th trap. VA-165 assigned to Attack Carrier Air Wing 9 (CVW-9) aboard the Constellation for a deployment to the Western Pacific and the Indian Ocean from 21 June to 23 December 1974. At the time of this photograph, Constellation was steaming in the Arabian Gulf, the first U.S. Navy carrier to enter that body of water since 1949.
